Who is eligible to subscribe to BusinessCents Plus?

Any customer with a business account may subscribe to BusinessCents Plus™. BusinessCents Plus™ may only be applied to business accounts.

Do I have to sign up for the plan?

Yes, new and existing customers will need to choose BusinessCents Plus™. Signing up is as simple as calling 1 888 423-2333 

Which long distance calls are eligible for volume discounts and minimum spending requirements?

Eligible calls include:

  • direct-dialed calls within Canada and to the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii)
  • calling card calls to Canada and the U.S., that originate or terminate in Northwestel's operating area and use Northwestel's transport facilities or services.

Will I pay any fees for this plan?

There are no fees for signing up for BusinessCents Plus™. However, the plan requires minimum spending of $100 in eligible long distance calls each month (at BusinessCents Plus™ rates). In addition, surcharges apply to BusinessCents Plus™ calling card calls.

What if my eligible long distance spending falls below $100 in a given month?

BusinessCents Plus™ is intended only for business customers with high volumes of long distance calling. If the minimum spending commitment is not met in any given month, charges will be added to the account so the total long distance charges equal the $100 minimum.

Can I switch to another plan if I am on this plan?

Yes. You are free to switch to another plan at any time.

What happens if I do not sign up for BusinessCents Plus™?

If you do not subscribe to any other long distance calling plan, your long distance calls will continue to be rated at regular rates. If you are already subscribed to another long distance calling plan, you will continue to be billed according to the rates for that plan.

I already subscribe to Teleplus™. Should I switch to BusinessCents™?

 Yes, the majority of businesses will benefit more from BusinessCents™ or BusinessCents Plus™.

Can I subscribe to more than one long distance calling plan at a time?

You may only subscribe to one standard long distance plan at a time, per account. However, BusinessCents Toll-Free™ may be added to an account with any of the above long distance calling plans. If your business has several accounts, you may apply different plans to each account.
