How do I know if I’m approaching my limit?

You should check your usage by using Northwestel’s usage tracking tool on our website – it is updated daily and lets you track your Internet usage throughout the month, to help you avoid additional usage charges.

For DSL customers, simply enter your Northwestel account number and the 4-digit PIN that was mailed to you when you signed up for the service. If you have misplaced your PIN, please call our Customer Care Centre at 1 888 423-2333.

For Cable Internet customers, simply enter your MAC ID number (a 12 character alpha numeric ID which is located on the back of your modem). 

Please note: Usage is calculated on the calendar month, which means that the calculator tracks usage from the 1st to the 30th (or 31st) of every month. It is not based on your billing cycle.

You can also subscribe to receive email notices when your usage has reached 50%, 75%, 95%, and 100% of your monthly usage allowance.  Please do not rely on email notification as your only method for tracking your usage. To sign up, log in to check your usage, and then select  "Click here to sign up". Enter your email address in the New email address and Confirm new email address boxes and then click update. Make sure Subscribe is selected.
